Chris contacted us in the summer of 2016 while preparing an online shop for bridal jewellery. The project required both fashion photography and professional product photography for the e-commerce catalogue.
We spent several days planning the production. In addition to photography and post-production, the work included coordination of models, make-up, styling, dresses and suitable locations.
Professional Jewellery Photography: The Fashion Part
The fashion production had two parts. The first was photographed outdoors in several locations, with brighter editorial-style images. The second was photographed in the studio, with the model wearing selected jewellery for use on the client’s website.
The shooting day was intensive: around 14 hours of work across five locations produced a large amount of material for selection and post-production.
Images for the Online Catalogue: White on White
The second part of the project was product photography for the online shop. When we opened the jewellery box, the main technical challenge became clear. The pieces featured bright, transparent crystals that had to remain visible and sparkling against a white background.
White and transparent details on white are demanding because the lighting has to preserve both separation and brilliance without making the product look flat. The project therefore required careful testing of lighting and post-production before the final visual approach was approved.

A Finished Catalogue and Useful Production Experience
The original project involved several tests and reshoots, different lighting setups and repeated post-production trials. Because the client was working remotely, a large part of the approval process also happened by phone.
The source article records more than 300 minutes of calls, 94 cups of coffee and 15 bars of dark chocolate before the final result was approved. The finished files were delivered successfully, and the project became useful experience for later jewellery productions involving transparent stones and white backgrounds.
