1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Light & Dark Studio uses cookies and similar technologies on light-n-dark.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Under the EU ePrivacy rules and Greek Law 3471/2006, storage of or access to information on a user’s device generally requires prior informed consent unless the technology is strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage and advertising or analytics identifiers, can perform related functions. They may remember preferences, measure website use or help measure advertising performance.

3. Our Consent Categories

Optional technologies are disabled by default. Our cookie controls provide three categories:

  • Necessary: technologies required to provide the website and store your cookie choices. They cannot be disabled through the cookie panel.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. These are used only after you enable Analytics.
  • Marketing: Google Ads conversion measurement and remarketing technologies. These are used only after you enable Marketing.

You can choose Accept all, Reject all, or open Settings and enable Analytics and Marketing independently.

4. Current Cookies and Similar Technologies

The table below reflects the website configuration tested on 25 August 2026. Providers may update cookie names or technical details over time.

Name / technology Category Provider Purpose Typical duration
lnd_cookie_preferences_v1 (local storage) Necessary Light & Dark Studio Stores your Analytics/Marketing choices and the time they were updated so the website can respect your preferences. Until you change the preference or clear browser storage.
_ga Analytics Google Analytics Distinguishes users for website analytics. Up to 2 years by default, subject to browser and service settings.
_ga_<container-id> Analytics Google Analytics Persists session state. Up to 2 years by default, subject to browser and service settings.
_clck Analytics Microsoft Clarity Persists a pseudonymous Clarity user ID and preferences for this website. Typically up to 1 year.
_clsk Analytics Microsoft Clarity Connects multiple page views into a single Clarity session recording. Typically up to 1 day.
_gcl_* (including _gcl_au where set) Marketing Google Ads Measures advertising interactions and conversions and supports advertising/remarketing functionality according to your Marketing choice. Up to 90 days.

5. Google Analytics

If Analytics is enabled, Google Analytics 4 uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and maintain session state. Google states that the default expiry for these cookies is two years, although browsers and our Google Analytics settings can shorten that period.

6. Microsoft Clarity

If Analytics is enabled, Microsoft Clarity may set first-party cookies such as _clck and _clsk. Clarity uses pseudonymous identifiers and interaction information to provide analytics, heatmaps and session-recording functionality. Under our consent configuration, these Clarity cookies are not written when Analytics is rejected.

7. Google Ads

If Marketing is enabled, Google Ads and related conversion-measurement technologies may use first-party conversion cookies with names beginning _gcl_, including _gcl_au where applicable. Google states that _gcl_ cookies are generally retained for 90 days. These technologies help us measure whether advertising leads to actions such as enquiries, form submissions or telephone-link clicks and may support remarketing.

How Google uses cookies

8. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to manage website tags. Our current implementation does not load Google Tag Manager when both Analytics and Marketing are rejected. When only one optional category is enabled, our tag configuration is designed to block tags belonging to the category you did not enable.

9. External Media and Third-Party Websites

Some pages may use or link to third-party services such as YouTube, Google Maps, WhatsApp, Viber and social networks. Requests to third-party resources or interactions with those services may be governed by the third party’s own cookie and privacy practices. Browser settings may also affect whether third-party cookies are accepted.

10. How to Change or Withdraw Consent

You can change your choices at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the website footer. You can enable or disable Analytics and Marketing independently.

If you withdraw a category that was previously enabled, our consent mechanism is designed to stop that category from loading on subsequent page loads and to remove the relevant first-party analytics or advertising cookies that it can access.

You can also delete cookies or local-storage data through your browser settings. Doing so may cause the cookie banner to appear again.

11. Legal Basis

Strictly necessary storage is used where needed to provide the website or remember the privacy choices you expressly request. Analytics and Marketing technologies are based on your prior consent under applicable EU data-protection and electronic-communications rules, including the GDPR and Greek Law 3471/2006.
